Be A Fashionista

Many fashion trends change every season and it can get pretty pricey if you have to replace your whole wardrobe each time. So you can keep ahead of the game when it comes to fashion, here are five of the big trends this summer and how you can achieve them without breaking the bank.

Mint hobo bagIt's all about mint green

Pastels are all the rage this season and the lighter the better. However, among all those pretty, girly shades there is one colour that takes centre stage above all the others. Mint green is the pastel hue of the summer and is all over the catwalk and high street alike. To achieve an ultra-fashionable look, buy a statement mint-green piece that you can mix, match and add to many of your favourite outfits. A bag, pair of shoes or belt are the best options, meaning you can always be on-trend whatever outfit you are wearing.

Batwing striped topStripes are in

For the last ten years stripes have never really been out, with horizontal and diagonal pieces hitting the catwalk time and time again. A nautical T shirt or jacket is a perfect way to embrace the theme and won’t break the bank either. These key pieces can also be worn regularly with different skirts, trousers and jeans, making them worth splashing out on. Accessories are also a great way to wear stripes, with bags and jewellery hitting the shops that look great when worn with a plain outfit.

Keyhole lace topLace is the fabric

Lace is huge this season and is an extremely feminine and pretty trend to wear when the weather is warmer. Many tops and dresses that have lace detail also have some chiffon, which itself is a very popular material at the moment. Again, if you don’t want to go full-on with a lace outfit, simply add some lace pumps to an outfit and you're good to go. For the budget conscious among you, adding lace to outfits you already have is extremely easy and can be done very quickly by sewing or even gluing it on.

Crinkled biker jacketBiker jackets are back

Yes, the leather jackets of the '80s are back and are taking the fashion world by storm. They are very slimline and tailored and the stereotypical bulky black style has been thrown to the wind with pastel colours being popular. If you don’t fancy wearing leather, there are plenty of faux leather materials around -- some so good you can’t tell the difference! If you are going to shell out, opt for a colour that is going to last a few seasons such as white or cream. Although popular now, a pink or green jacket may not look so hot next year.

Statement necklaceAccessorise

Fairly plain outfits jazzed up with jewellery or a fancy bag are very popular this year. Many bags embracing the trends are stripy, covered in lace or a beautiful pastel colour. Jewellery, especially chunky bangles and heavy necklaces, are all over the catwalk and will change a simple outfit into a knockout one in minutes. High street accessories are also very affordable, so perfect if you are on a budget.
