Cher Lloyd Confirms Engagement Rumours

X Factor star Cher Lloyd has confirmed that she is engaged to hairdresser boyfriend Craig Monk, and the couple are planning for a summer wedding.

"Swagger Jagger" singer Cher Lloyd may be just 18 years old, but she's already planning to get serious and settle down with her boyfriend, hairdresser Craig Monk. Cher and Craig got together shortly after Cher came fourth in the 2010 series of The X Factor, and have been going strong ever since.

It was reported earlier this year that the young couple had gotten engaged, and in a new interview with the Daily Mirror, Lloyd has confirmed that the rumours are true. Cher said: "I'm engaged and want to get married as soon as possible. I can't wait." She and Monk are keen to begin married life, and Cher says they are hoping to get hitched this summer, despite the fact that she is recording her second album and preparing for her big U.S. launch over the coming months.

Cher was signed by U.S. X Factor judge LA Reid's record label, Epic, after she met the music executive during a visit to the X Factor set in Los Angeles last year. Speaking of her planned American invasion, Cher told The Sun: "I’ve worked hard in the U.K. and I’m gonna work hard in America. I feel so lucky to have LA Reid supporting me." As an X Factor U.K. alumnus and Reid's latest protegée, perhaps we'll see Cher performing her next single on The X Factor U.S. when the second series takes place later this year.
