Robbie Williams and Ayda Field expecting baby girl

Robbie Williams has spoken about the baby he and his actress wife Ayda Field are expecting, confirming that it will be a girl. During an interview at the charity football event Soccer Aid, 38-year-old Robbie expressed his excitement about becoming a dad for the first time. He also said he plans to teach his daughter "football and karate and boxing" to make sure she is tough enough to stand up for herself.

Robbie and Ayda's daughter will grow up with plenty of celebrity baby friends to hang out with, as two of Robbie's Take That band members are also expecting new babies this year. Mark Owen and his wife Emma will have their third child together this summer, while Gary Barlow is expecting his fourth child with his wife Dawn.

Robbie hasn't given away any clues about what his child will be called. Ayda's unusual name comes from her Turkish background, so their daughter's name may also have a Turkish origin. Alternatively, the couple may choose a name which reminds them of a special place, such as Beverly after Beverly Hills, the Californian city where they got married in 2010.
